Is it cheaper to buy new clothing/wardrobe in the US or in Japan? -

I am going to japan this summer for 6 weeks. Should i buy the majority of my clothes there or here while I m still in america?

It depends on what you are buying - for most clothing it will be cheaper in the US. Also keep in mind that people in Japan are smaller than in the US - so unless you are small and petite you may have trouble finding your size in Japan.

Japan is an expensive country, and you ll especially be feeling the bite now with the currency exchange the way it is. Buy your wardrobe in the US. Japanese sizes are meant for the Japanese and unless you re skinny and petite, you ll be hard pressed to find things that fit. A size 6 in the US is considered quot;plus-sizedquot; in many, many stores in Japan. Things are truly very expensive, even in the rural areas. Even no-name clothing will run you about 30-40 dollars for a t-shirt. Consider CaLaJa though (a Japanese TJMaxx-type store), if they have that where you are, where they have cheaper clothing, although people may scoff that you would buy things from there. The style will be different, yes. When I was in Japan, dyed, shaved eyebrows were all the rage. Does that mean you follow blindly along as well? 6 weeks is a short amount of time, and summer is hotter than hell. If you re going to ruin your new clothes with sweat, better that they not have costed you hundreds of dollars.

Well first you have to factor in your size in clothing. If youre at a size 10+ it will be hard to find clothing in Japan (talking about women s clothing). If you are tall, you should buy pants in USA no doubt (im 5 2quot; i had no problem with that). Brassires.... yea I wont even go there, let s just say for many of us western women japanese bras are just glamorized training bras. If you wear over a US8.5 in shoes, it will be nearly imposssible to find shoes (i wear a 8.5 and it the pickings were there but scarce). After all of those factors. If you shop smart you can find some really awesome clothes for a really decent price in Japan. There are some items that will just be expensive, but it is possible to buy cheap. With that said, you must also consider that the dollar is kinda crappy right now. So I suggest you buy some necessity clothes from home/ basic pieces, and shop for interesting things in Japan. (happy medium!)

It depends on the stregth of the dollar. But right now it s probabaly cheeper in Japan. Warning though the fashion in Japan is really really weird. I used to live there and it was awful how they wore their clothes. (No offense to them). The clothing you see in the US that are quot;Japanese brandsquot; are way way way toned down and pretty much nothing like it. It s still American style.

I here that everything good is made in Japan o.o im not really sure, but, I think you should buy it in Japan, personally, I also heard that America buys items from Japan because its cheaper, aint you always seen quot;made in japanquot; half the time? =p hope this helps =D

buy basic staples in the U.S. and extravenous fun items like kimonos, dresses, and slipper flats in Japan. just remember that it s much more expensive in most parts of Japan, so don t buy too much here and have little to bring for spending on clothes there.

Buy in the US and save for one japanese item. About 20 years ago the cost of one orange was equivalent to Aus $6. Japan is the most expensive country in which to live.

If you re into high quality-non-branded stuff, they have UNIQLO shops everywhere. Not to forget recycle shops, vintage shops... it s fun to go shopping clothes in japan, actually...

in Japan its more expensive I would suggest bring half good clothes half that your ready to throw out and you can shop and replace what you can efford.

Japan is pretty expensive, but realy cutee outfits. when i immigrated to canada, we stopped by japan airport, and dey were REALLY EXPENSIVE!

hello?!?! Japan!! i lived ther for at least like 7 yrs in my lifetime and ther clothes rok!! and anyways its cheaper ther

everything sold here is foreign, so buy Japanese clothes in American stores. ya can t lose!

You can t beat Walmart, K-mart, Target... When is the last time you ve seen anything made in Japan ? It s all made in China...

depends on where you shop. there are some non name brand stores that carry good quality clothing for a good price in japan. try uniqlo and muji

here bc of the currancy and the prices japan has

usa

japan, and they will have things you never seen before!

here because the us dollar is so low

jus steal ur cloths
