That is incorrect samurai_dave. He is a Passport holder and citizen of Jamaica, Jamaica is not a visa waiver country with Japan. So he cannot simply show up at the airport and get a temporary visitors permit. You re Permanent Residency in the US does not matter, what matters is what passport you carry. The poster needs to apply for a temporary visitors visa through a Japanese Embassy or Consulate in the United States, he wouldn t need to go to the one in Jamaica since he s currently in the US. As long as all your paperwork is in order there shouldn t be much problems. You can find more information here: http://www.us.emb-japan.go.jp/english/ht... Since you re in the US you can use the Embassy or Consulates of Japan in the US (depending on which one you live closer to).
Not hard at all. Just show up at the airport in Narita and you get a three month tourist visa. If you want to renew it you can try at immigration offices or of outside of the country and come back for another three month tourist visit. --------------------------------- Whoops! Scratch that! I thought you had a US passport. I ll leave that there anyway for those with visa-waiver status. As TokyoE states, it s different for Jamaica. Check out this site: http://www.jamaica.emb-japan.go.jp/en/ht... -------------------------------- now, d*mmit, I can understand 3 TDs for me for being mistaken but TokyoE was right from the get-go and he gets hit by 3 as well? And meanwhile the first guy who doesn t even come close to answering the question has 3 TUs! This is a sure sign that YA needs to toss or amend the TU/TD system to keep the immature brats here from mucking about.
