Sub-Saharan Africa has been developing at 6% annually and should continue at or near that rate I believe that if development continues at or near its present pace that it ll still take 3 generations or nearly 100 years before all the streets are paved and conditions are what you are looking for. In the meantime the USA must watch its own human development since it has now fallen below 10 place in the world. The last report of the WHO showed the USA at 12th, after it had fallen four places. If we are not careful then Nigeria, or the Republic of the Congo could surpass the US.
African countries like South Africa, Kenya and Rwanda did have a similar quality of life but their neighboring tribemen came in and tore it all down. South America is so corrupted I don t know of any country that even has a fighting chance there.
First of all , quality of life does not simply included material well-being of the country , it also includes non-tangible items such as freedom , art and happiness . In other words even countries like America may have the material comfort but the strict working hours and desecration of the environment still impairs the value of quality of life . On the other hand , in the savannas of Africa , the freedom of tribal groups who live on the blessing of nature untainted by the corruption of modern days stressful life could also have their own joys . Thus what i am trying to say is that we cannot simply judge living in Africa as just any undeveloped area . Africa has its own culture and traditions just as any region in the whole world . Africa today is still impoverished and stripped of its environment resources . In many of its member states , there are even problems in finding food and basic health care . However , we simply just wan to develop Africa into another north America or Europe , we will be killing of this one beautiful savannas of our earth .What matters the most , i personally feel , is not making Africa another US or Japan but building a better Africa
