What is the best and cheapest way to talk to someone in Japan? -

My brother has moved to Japan and I m looking for a way to talk to him cheaply.

I use Skype. I bought a skype phone to connect to my computer s USB port. It s just like a regular phone. Skype is basically a chat with voice...and it s free from skype to skype.

Use a messenger service like MSN Messenger, Yahoo Messenger, etc. You can speak to them with internet access as long as you are on each others friends list and are logged on at the same time and it costs nothing. Then, while you re chatting, you can make a date for the next time to log on together so that you re sure to be on at the same time to talk.
