Has anyone bought a Honda or Toyota in Japan and shipped it to the states? -

We live in Japan and hear it s cheap to ship a car to the states. We are moving back in a few months and want to take a car to the US if it s going to save us some money. Used cars here in Japan are very cheap, but we don t know how much it would be to ship to to the states. Anyone done it? If so, how much did it cost?

more paper work than anything really . depending of car u lookin at a couple of grand wich will b cheaper than by same model in the states ( if avaiable ) . plus cars in japan come with less mileage and usually more power . no worries about service history cuz they get rid of cars when they still recent so not much history yet . japanese look after they cars , it s a matter of honor thing i was told . good luck mate .

You must first check that you are buying a model that satisfies the US specifications. I understand that cars marketed outside North America usually have different set of specs more so regarding safety. You could end up spending much more or get the vehicle stranded in customs if it is not up to US standard requirements.

No but my guess would be 5g to 10g maybe
