What is the most traditional city in Japan? -

When I m older I m moving to Japan. I really want that Japanese culture traditional feel when I live there. Can anyone name cities that give that traditional vibe?

If you live anywhere in country side of Japan, more people and more houses will be kind of quot;traditionalquot;. Famous places are Kyoto, Kanazawa in Ishikawa prefecture, or Nara. but I think those places are more for tourists. When I visited a Japanese style of hotel with hot spa in the mountain in Nagano, I felt those countryside shows really kind of quot;good ol days of Showa or Taisho eraquot; which I may not stay more than 1 week. ( well.. i was raised up in city side of Japan... can t stand bugs... )

Probably Kyoto. It is very traditional, and very beautiful, with a lot to see and do. You see people wandering around in kimono there. There are lots of temples and shrines, gardens and very old traditional Japanese areas.

Sorry to crush your dream kid, but Japan is going through another recession and the U.S is collapsing soon. I m pretty sure you will make it better in a country in Europe. Stop watching anime, cause the real Japan is nothing like it.

Kyoto...and sorry,Tim, you just can t move there and say here I am.That s not allowed.Japan is having major problems right now.I have a 30 year old friend there, and he s having problems finding work. And he s Japanese.

Japanese new year. its called shogatsu same day and everything and they visit a temble or a shrine and all businesses stay closed till jan 3

No most traditional city there. Japan is not so simple. You d better study a lot of things much more. Dream will come true someday. I don t know when though.

Okinawa, some island around Japan. I would call it the Japan s version of Hawaii.
