I intend to teach English in Japan, how can I apply for citizenship if I would like to stay and live in Japan? -

I recently graduated from university with a Bachelor s degree in Psychology and have applied for a sponsored position as Conversational English Teacher in Japan. Is it possible to become a citizen of Japan if I want to stay? What visa options do I have so I can live in Japan? What is the process involved in order to stay and live in Japan, and how long is this process?

There are many programs set up to let English speakers teach in Japan that can help you. Some of the biggest are: -JET: http://www.jetprogramme.org/ and -NOVA: http://www.teachinjapan.com/ You don t need to be a citizen, and in all likelhood, you cannot be one.

The USA is always knocked as being racist; however, I understand that Japan does not grant citizenship to anyone unless they have true Japanese parentage. Good luck to you. I think you may be able to achieve permanent resident status there, but never citizenship.

You will never be a citizen. America the Great is the only country that offers this. HUMMM. I ask why everday. You can work there if the government approves of your purpose and it serves them properly. But no, only America offers citizenship. We are great but also flawed in tis regard. Other countries never approve of outsiders.Maybe they have the right idea.

its all at wikipedia
