How much would it cost to stay in Japan for a week? -

I m going to be taking a vacation to Japan for a week in April. Can somebody here tell me how much it is going to cost. This is without the plane ticket and hotel costs. Just how much its going to cost for food, transportation, etc.

Depends on the city, how much traveling you ll be doing, what type of lifestyle you live, etc. I d say that 1000 yen for food everyday bare minimum. Whatever minimum you take for food per day, multiply it by two to be safe. After that, it depends on if you re going to stay in one city or travel around the country.

$1,000 for spending (food, purchases, subway etc.) i ate at local japenese restaurants that salary men go to and their meals cost about 800 yen..(~$8) i also bought food from department stores; see most have either a grocery area OR/ AND a floor filled with baked goods, food etc. most of my spending surprisingly was on transportation.. i never took taxi s (heard they re expensive!) as the japanese subway systems are very efficient and drop you off exactly where you want to go! but still, the cost of riding the subway would vary depending on the distance. cheaper destinations obviously would cost less
