How old do you have to be in Japan to get a tattoo or a piercing?? -

My friends went to Japan when they were 17 and got some piercings and i asked my exchange student from Japan how old you had to be, but she didn t know. She thought it was 16, but then when i look for japanese tattoo shops in tokyo, they say you have to be 18+. I ve googled this and i can t find the answer, please help me!!!!

you have to be 18 but some places dont id you or will do it anyway but most of those places arent the cleanest. Good luck with that. Youre better off doing it yourself. As for tats i doubt youll find a place for under 18 without a signature.
