It depends on 1, your nationality 2, Which visa you are trying to take Please tell me.
The most important thing to get travel visa into Japan depends on your nationality. It is very simple. No high or low probability there. If you are told that it is quite difficult, it must be really quite difficult for everybody from your country. That s all. You must have certain guarantor of Japanese citizen, strong financial background like your own bank account balance and no criminal record for next procedure if you are from the country without any mutual visa waiver treaty to Japan.
I think most tourist visas to Japan are denied when the application is missing a required documentation. One requirement is an income certificate, but another discouraging requirement is a letter of invitation from a guarantor living in Japan (does not have to be a Japanese national). A lot of these requirements are relaxed when you go to Japan on a group tour, but you will naturally have a restricted itinerary. If you have all the required documents, your application should be fine. Most consulates claim processing takes a week at most.
there is a procedure that you need to have in order to get a visa. First what kind of Visa are you applying for? is it a working holiday visa? working visa? student visa? you need to be more specific. Also, what country are you in now? every country has there own agreement with each other in regards to visas. I believe if your 30 you can t get a workign holiday visa. For Canadians you can get a 1 year workign holiday visa but for Aussies, they get 1.5years. If your going to apply for a working holiday visa you need to prove you have enough money to sustain you during your stay (roughly 3000-4000 for 3 months) Your going to need to show them a return ticket so they know your not going to stay in the country after your time is up. For a Working Visa its all based on education. If you have a Degree in something then its going to be a little bit easier to get a working visa. The only other option is that if you work for a company in japan and they offer you the visa. you just need to check your countries Human Resources information about traveling to Japan and see what they offer. Thats what I did. I hope this helps you.
If you are in a western country (like Australia, New Zeland, USA, UK, Ireland etc), you may not need a visa if your stay is less than 90 days. here is a complete list of countries that dont need a visa for a certain amount of time and for those who are not working at ny stage during their visit http://www.mofa.go.jp/j_info/visit/visa/...
If you re an American going there for a visit under 90 days, there shouldn t be a problem. They ll just stamp your passport after you arrive at the airport. If you re from a third world country, that will change things.
