I don t know about any non-fiction, but a book that is semi-fictional and based on the author s life growing up Japanese is Obasan by Joy Kogawa. Kogawa tries to reconcile her reality living in Canada while being raised with traditional Japanese values at a very volatile time in Canadian history. It s well worth reading. I m sure you could find numerous interviews with her talking about the comparisons between Japan and Canada. Otherwise, I would just google your query.

I dont know any exact books, but im pretty familiar withthe dewey decimal system, ... try the 305 ish area... 305.3 if i remember totally correctly,,,
