Go to Tokyo or Osaka. I lived in Tokyo for 5 years and had the time of my life.....If you get stuck in the country side you ll have absolutely nothing to do on the weekend except go sight seeing or BBQ s and that gets old quick. Besides if you re there to learn you should go to the cities where the most people congregate and accept a multicultural environment....Tokyo, Osaka, Fukuoka, Kobe....but defitnitley Tokyo...you can t go worng there.
Kyoto, Nara, Osaka, Hiroshima, Aomori, Tokyo, Yokohama, Matsue/Izumo. These are all good places to visit. As for good places to live and study, there s basically no point because it s likely the the decision will be made for you by the programs that you apply to. Good luck, it s wonderful in Japan.
tokyo or harajuku(so i could look at all the kawaii harajuku guys XD)! thats where i would go! but i never will get toT_T
