How can my father obtain his birth certifcate from his birth country Japan? -

My father was adopted in Japan by my deceased grandfather who served in the military. We are trying to locate my grandmother in japan. All we have is her name and her last known address.

You have a loooong road ahead of you. 1. If you have an address, you need to find the City Hall in that town/city and write them a letter. Hopefully these documents were not destroyed in the war. 2. Find someone in Japan who is willing to help out...especially with writing or making phone calls. I d like to say the Embassy is helpfull.....maybe they will be.....but I have my doubts.
