How much money shoud I save up if I would like to visit Japan? -

I would like to visit Japan for one month during the summer, probably not this summer but I would like to go during summer time. How much money should I save?

A month? Do you have a family that you are staying with? Japan is super expensive hon... Staying for a month can run you into the high thousands... Like $10,000.00 or more... depending on your lifestyle and need for comforts and your idea of necessities...

My family of four just went for 11 nights and it cost a little over $6,000 including everything. We could have done it cheaper or a whole lot more expensive. Almost half of that was for the plane tickets so if you stay longer you get more bang for your buck on a per day basis.

If you are traveling and changing locations often, you should plan on spending a lot more on transportation and seeing the touristy sites. If you are planning on staying in one area, say to go to summer school (Sophia University has an awesome 3 week program), it would cost less since you would be traveling less. If you re travelling around constantly for a month, I would budget at least $5,000-$6,000 including your plane ticket, transportation, food, lodging and other.
