Should I write the address in English or Japanese for a letter sent to Japan? -

I have both the English and Japanese written addresses of a person who lives in Japan. Which address would be better for me to write on the envelope of a letter to Japan?

You can just write it once in English. It will be no problem at all and it will arrive at the designated address. I have letters and packages sent to Japan all the time from the US with the addresses written in English.

Ultimately I don t think it matters. I ve written Japanese addresses in English before and the letters have gotten to their destination just fine. I would write whichever you re most comfortable writing (though you might at least want to write Japan in English after writing it in Japanese, just to make sure your letter gets in the right outgoing mail batch).
