What British music acts have made it big in Japan? -

From around 1990, only the big ones :) I was shocked to see PJ amp; Duncan (ant and dec) did really well in Japan with some of their albums. So thought Id ask this. Are there any British acts currently big at the moment in Japan?

The top-selling artists are all Japanese, since, well, everyone understands Japanese in Japan. :) The top-selling foreign artists are American artists, currently Mariah Carey and Madonna. There are fans of British acts like Coldplay and Oasis, but I wouldn t call them quot;bigquot; as only a small percentage of Japanese (probably less than 10%) would know who they are. Coldplay is coming to Tokyo for a short tour this summer, so maybe their popularity will increase.
