I bought a salt and pepper shaker and its marked on bottom in black Japan. What time frame is that from? -

Some one told me that it was occupied Japan and I just wanted to know more. I have a few pieces with a light mark, I am curious to the differences and what they mean.

Actually, if it was made during occupied Japan, it would say quot;Made in Occupied Japanquot; See the below links for more pics on how those logos looked.

Well, I am making the assumption it s an antique? and the bottom in black it says quot;Japanquot;? Well, it could be after ww2/during the occupation of Japan (they made knick knacks and little cheap things trying to get their economy going) but it really could be from anytime. Possibly it could be from earlier on when Japan first opened its borders to trade and the US (and the rest of the world) went crazy with oriental stuff.
