How do I set up a Yahoo Japan Auction Premium Account? -

I live in Japan, have a Yahoo Japan ID, and have a Japanese bank account. I am not able to bid on items more than 5000Y without a Premium account (I have bid on and won auctions for less than 5000Y). I do not have a Japanese credit card nor will Yahoo Japan accept foriegn credit cards. How do I set up the Premium account using only my Japanese bank account?

I don t know much about Yahoo! J Auctions. The help page says following banks are registerable. Japan Netbank, Mizuho bank, eBank, Mitsubishi UFJ bank. First you register Yahoo! Wallet. http://wallet.yahoo.co.jp/promo/index.ht... Then, submit application form regarding credit transfer to your bank. Then submit Yahoo! Premium. http://premium.yahoo.co.jp/ I think premium account will charge you 295yen/month. I think the procedure is a bit complex and will take a while. I recommend you to get this debit card. Suruga bank-Visa debit card. http://www.surugabank.co.jp/my/debit/ind... This is not credit card. But I think you can use this card as a credit card, as much as you charged. You can charge money at the ATM in 7eleven, some convenience stores and post office. You can print out application form online. However, I think you better ask your Japanese friend or collegue for assistance. Let your friend to call the information desk for the details first. I helped my foreign friend to have this card for her shopping at Rakuten mall.

Please let me know how to get other visa debit card apart from suruga bank. when using this card, are my transactions ie purchases subject to financial check? like, how much I have used so far to the authority...am I restricted on how much to spend on the online purchases? Report Abuse

I strongly recommend you NOT use Yahoo Japan Auctions if you are not Japanese. Although I live in Japan and read and write Japanese pretty well, and had my wife proofread everything that I wrote, while in the middle of running several auctions my account was locked out for some unexplained reason. As I escalated the issue through Yahoo Japan support, I eventually (it took 2 weeks to get a straight answer) received the reply quot;Sorry, but only Japanese people can use this service. Your account has been terminated.quot; To date this was the worst case of discrimination I have faced in Japan. As you can imagine, I quit using all Yahoo Japan services (including my YahooBB DSL) shortly after that. I only continue to use Yahoo USA because they are completely separate entities. I suggest using Rakuten auction which (as far as I know) does not discriminate against foreigners.

What shots do you need before going to Japan? -

Im going to the doctors soon (UK) To get shots before going to |Japan the nurse said she would give me Hepititus A and B but id have to pay for one of them (cant remember which) Question is do I really need both if im going to Japan. Surley id be just as likley to contract it in either country. Is it a requirement to get in to the country?

You don t need any shots to enter Japan, so long as you aren t coming from a place that has yellow fever or something like that. I would say that health standards are just as high here as they are in the UK (if not higher). I wouldn t get the shots even if they were free.

What is the difference between spirit and soul in Japan ? -

I ve once heard someone saying that in Japan the spirit is different from the soul, that the spirit is the vital energy while the soul is something else. Or something like that. Can someone please detail this to me ?

In japanese usage maybe soul is a synonym of a ghost. It dwells in something doesn t have a flesh and it sounds creepy. Spirit is in everyone s body. It dwells in a vigorous state of one s mind. A long time ago, Japanese seemed to think the soul can dwell in all living things. Several years ago, a young Japanese female singer named quot;Baby Soul(not translation)quot; was popular in Japan. That was so creepy!

Well actually a Christian Japanese government official in Nagoya married to a woman from Ethiopia explained to government officials that the soul was separate from the spirit. This happened about 3 years ago. The Japanese language did not have a word for both as they thought the two were one and the same. The soul is the mind, will and emotions. The spirit is the part of us that can connect to God.

Why stop at Japan? If anyone who is a Jehovah s Witness, even if all the way around to the other side of the world, they believe the exact same thing. Soul is the body, Spirit is what keeps us breathing, eating and moving. Yes, the Jehovah s Witnesses are the only ones who no matter where you live, when Sunday comes, the same watchtower, and talk out lines. When the book study comes, the exact same book, page, and all. The service meeting. Totally the same. Because as being Jehovah s Servants, we are unified. We are organized, as well as believe the exact same thing. Isn t that totally awesome!!! I hope you have a great day!

The difference between the spirit and the soul is that they are all one and the same.

Can I get a job in Japan that I could normally get in America? -

I really want to move to Japan when I m older. And I was wondering if I could get a job at, let s say a physician s assistant, and I had my training/college over in America, can I still be that IN Japan?

If you are not Japanese, it would be difficult just like Japanese people in the US. You, however, have specific abilities which not many Japanese do such as language. So you might be able to get some good deal by using those abilities. The reason why Japanese companies wouldn t hire non-Japanese for normal position is that we already have tons of people for that. You can use your advantages to get a better job (or worse), which really depends on what you ve got from your school life. So make sure to get MBA or whatever that makes you stand out.

Sorry, no. You would have to have your training in Japan. That would require native level Japanese. Most Japanese would feel uncomfortable in that kind of situation. And these jobs will always go to a native Japanese first. There s little work available outside of teaching English.Unless you can find a skill few Japanese have. Teaching English isn t a life long job. You can try joining wwoof Japan. They need workers to work on farms and ski resorts. The bad news is most of them only pay in room and board. But some allow you to stay for up to one year. And they may bypass the BA degree issue. Moving to Japan long term won t be easy.If it were,I d be there myself.

In the medical field where you are dealing with Japanese patients, jobs will go to Japanese first. You will find it very difficult. There are foreign (non-Japanese) doctors in Japan, but their numbers are very few. It is always interesting to hear their stories... Outside of teaching English, there are plenty of jobs available -- if you can speak Japanese fluently. Since you indicated that you are still young, I would focus on learning Japanese. That will help you immensely. I would also look at what type of jobs are available to non-Japanese in Japan. You want to avoid learning a skill or trade that you could not find work for in Japan.

Medical assistant needs to clear Japanese national exam all are performed by Japanese, not English. You have to be able to speak, read, wright and listen fluent Japanese. I think better idea could be attorney, counsel and/or CPA for international business more successfully. You don t need fluent Japanese anymore to live in Japan on those kind of business with high salaried payment.

No. Unless you work for the military - youd be around americans all day though and living on base! Otherwise you would have to be at native level in spoken, and written Japanese - which is the equivelent of getting a Bachelors from a Japanese university. Your only option for living in Japan is as an English teacher. Or a housewife! :o)

How many days does it take for a Honda Accord to ship from freight from Tokyo, Japan to Long Beach, CA United States?

Are you sure your Accord is built in Japan. All US models are built either in Marysville, OH or Alliston, Ontario Canada Transpacific shipping is normally 2-3 weeks for other products.
