When is the best time to visit Japan? -

I want to plan a trip to Japan for 2008/2009, but when is the best time to go there? Like, the best time in terms of climate and festivals, etc? Where are some good tourist spots?

May is the best time to go there. My boyfriend lived there for two years. He said that it s not too hot or humid.. It s a dry season. (No typhoons. They come in the summer.) The cherry blossoms are all in bloom. Very Nice. He said that you definitely NEED to go to Kyoto. It s the old capital and it has most of the history. Tokyo has only been the capital for like the last two hundred years. And Kyoto is right next to a lot of other hot spots. Good luck. It s a beautiful country. I hope you have a blast.

August is good, weather is warm, lots of festivities and holidays

I d say late March or early April because that is Cherry Blossom season. The weather is great, everyone wants to be outside and the quot;Sakuraquot; are just beautiful. Everyone is so social and nice too. Some good sites are: Tokyo Kyoto Nara Hiroshima Fukuoka Sapporo Nagano Osaka

May, when lots of flowers are in bloom. The weather is mostly sunny and cooool. Go to Hokkaido, lots of natural hot springs/spas if you enjoy this

Anytime amp; anywhere in Japan are good for foreigners who haven t been to Japan.

I ve never been there, but I think that the winter time would be really pretty. Maybe if you go to the hot springs you can see some Japanese Macaques (monkies).

There are festivals and things happening in Japan all year long, so any time is a great time to go. But if I had to choose the least popular time, I d say August--it s terribly hot and everyone else in Japan is on vacation, so the airfare is quite expensive then.
