How are blonde tourists treated in Japan? -

I am going to Japan with my family this spring break, and I am very excited! However, I have heard various horror stories from friends in which small groups of Japanese people run up to them and start randomly posing with them and snapping pictures. Is this just a silly myth or will I be stopped every five minutes for a picture?

You ll be treated like C3P0 was by the Ewoks (and the height difference should be about the same too!). But don t worry. I lived there for three years, and never really saw that except when I was teaching in elementary school. Go and enjoy the food and the hot springs, and don t worry about it. Nobody will bother you.

japanese like ******** blonde

Japan is probably the safest country in Asia to visit. Many Japanese love blondes. Many young girls even dye their hair blonde. If they come up to you it s because they admire the way you look.

I have blond hair and all of the Japanese love me!!! Don t be frightened if they ask to touch it. They think it is good luck to touch blond hair because ALL Japanese are born with jet-black hair. Today, most Japanese die their hair.

have you seen hostel? just kidding,we treat most tourist nice, expect kind faces(at least during sun-up)

I am blonde and I never had any problem. But as Nikkibabii said, try not to look and behave like an American and you will be fine!

You ll be very popular with the local men. But don t worry, they re harmless.

they will only come up to you and take pictures with you if they re not too shy to do so. they will stare in amazement though. it happened to me plenty of times. if you have big eyes or a long nose it s even more amusing because they seem to think its hott or something. but don t worry. you won t get stopped every five minutes for pictures.

I think that s the least of your worries while traveling as an American right now to other countries. I have also heard of underground stuff like kidnapping people for prostitution, torture, etc.. It s not likely but I heard it and thought you should know. hope this helps.

No .. Japanese people are really friendly especially towards tourists .. theres this time in japan .. we were on the streets looking at a map .. we didn t ask for help but people came up to us asking if we needed help ..

You know western tourists often want to randomly pose with random japanese school girls all the time. Back on topic, I don t think it will be everywhere every five minutes, depends on where you are. If you are sightseeing at a major place you might have students come up to you and start practicing their english or answer somesort of english quiz they were assigned. They don t RUN up to you and start randomly posing. Certainly not on the train or in the middle of a busy street. In major cities they are somewhat used to seeing foreigners walking around. The only times you probably will be approached and bugged (not neccessarily running up and taking pictures, but quot;english lessonsquot;) is aforementioned sightseeing places.

I am half Japanese and half African american and I feel bi-racial people are treated wierd. When I visit my family people are always giving me wierd looks and pointing at me. So you will have it better. But At least I can speak Japanese.

Like a rockstar. They love foreigners, especially blond ones.
