Foreigners can drive in Japan with a recognized international driving permit for up to one year after entering the country. Recognized international driving permits must be obtained in your home country, usually through the national automobile association, before you leave for Japan. A Japanese driving license is required for all drivers, who are staying in Japan for more than one year. Only if you leave Japan for more than three consecutive months, are you again allowed to use an international driving permit in Japan for up to one year.
Its called an international license for a reason. Safe driving!
You seem a resident in Japan. And probably you have alien registration card already. If so you need to take Japanese driving license. International driving license is valid for travelers up to a year. http://www.keishicho.metro.tokyo.jp/fore... http://www.keishicho.metro.tokyo.jp/fore... To switch your license, let s your Japanese friend to call quot;Driver s License Centerquot;.
yes meant for international use but if I am not wrong, it should valid for a year after it was issued. To get it convert to Japanese licence, wow god this is really troublesome, I came back from the Yokohoma Driving Dept 2 weeks ago, quot;resultlessquot; cos they require additional tons of documents which are not related to driving PLUS I brought all documents they required as per their the form?!?!. So I advise you to go to the nearest Driving Dept to check out yourself. And if you dont really need it just stick to public transport.
An international drivers license is meant to be used internationally otherwise it is meaningless. You should be able to use your license atleast for 6 months.
its an international drivers license meaning that you can use it in differnet countries. feel free to use it.
You can use an international driver s licence for up to one year after arriving in Japan. After that you need to get a Japanese driver s license. Don t forget when using an international license to also carry your license from your home country and your passport (or alien registration card if you have one).
