What is the cultural significance of the white wolf in Japan? -

In japan, is the white wolf symbolic of something?

Yes it is. The spirit of the white wolf is regarded as the leader amongst all woodland spirits in times of trouble. It lives its life apart from other wolves and indeed other spirits except when the greater good dictates that it should intervene. Such an attitude was held in high esteem by some warrior classes who held that war and policing should be used as a tool only if all other options had failed, and even then only for the greater good. For villagers this view was given the status of hero worship. I have often wondered if the tales of the white wolf are not related to Viking tales of a similar nature but have never found a direct crossover to date.

maybe

no wolf has meaning of the person who keep up appearances but there are no cultural significance of the white wolf.
