How long would a flight from France to Japan take? -

I m writing a story, so I need a bit of info on this: 1. Would a commercial plane have sufficient fuel to fly straight from France to Japan (never mind pilot-rest and stuff, fuel is the only factor I need to consider) 2. How many hours would said journey take? Thanks for your help!

The airlines that have a direct flight from France (Paris) to Japan (Tokyo) are predictably Air France, Japan Airlines, and All Nippon Airways. The flight is less than 12 hours going and over 12 hours returning. Other airlines connect at their national hubs. For example, Swiss Air takes you from Paris to Zurich to Tokyo. Lufthansa connects in Frankfurt. Austrian Airlines in Vienna, Scandinavian Airlines in Copenhagen, Aeroflot in Moscow, and Alitalia in Rome. A connection tends to add 2-3 hours to the time it takes for a direct flight and doesn t affect the fare that much. The distance from these national hubs to Tokyo and the distance from Paris to Tokyo are negligibly the same. They re all direct flights with enough fuel for the trip and some more for emergencies. Back in the old days, the cockpit crew often had the luxury of having two captains so one was flying while the other was sleeping. This was in addition to the co-pilot so there were three pilots available. I think on some flights, they also had a second co-pilot for a total for four pilots. It would have taken a lot to incapacitate all of them. These days, most airlines probably fly with just a captain, a co-pilot, and a flight officer (Boeing 747 only). So the cockpit crew actually take turns on a long flight anyway. Most flights from Europe leave Europe around noon or in the early afternoon at the latest. They arrive in Tokyo in the morning or around noon at the latest. Afternoon arrivals are mostly from North America. Back in the old days, these flights could not fly over the Soviet Union, so they had to take a longer router over the North Pole. Today, they can fly over Russia on more modern, fuel efficient planes, so fuel really isn t an issue.

Current normal Jumbo Jet has quite enough aircraft range more than the distance between Paris and Tokyo. Standard range capacity of those Jets are about 13,000km in average and the distance between paris and Tokyo via Moscow is just less than 10,000km Recent science of computer control system let pilot have less operation on flying high over between landing off and on. It is almost automated now. Answer 1 is yes absolutely. Answer 2 is 12 to 13 hours but you have to count the time lag too.

Hi there---- Yes infact many airlines fly to Japan From France Most airlines would use The Jumbo Jet (747-400) and some airlines would use others there are probably a couple more planes that are capable of flying that i have forgot to mention! 2 Yes The Journey take about 12-13 Hours *Rock*

Yes the airlines do have flight from Paris to Tokyo. If you were to get a direct flight it would be approx. 11 Hrs 2 Min . You can get flight times for airports all over the world at https://www.jets.com/

1, Why not? There are many flights between France and Japan. 2, It s usually 12-3 hours in direct flight.
