Is there a site that will tell me the current moon phases for Okinawa Japan? -

My son is doing a report and needs to record the current phases of the moon over Okinawa Japan. He will have to draw it so he will need to see the different pages. Can anyone help?

Others are correct. The moon phase is the same for everyone except for small almost imperceptible differences. That said, although the phase is the same the actual image that you see varies significantly depending on where you are located. For instance if you are looking at a first quarter moon from the northern hemisphere it will be illuminated on the right half. From the southern hemisphere it will be the left half that is illuminated. Understand that the same part of the moon is illuminated, but the perspective is changed. Before anyone argues with me, just look at the image of a quarter moon displayed on any good planetarium program from two locations.

Look up into the sky. The phases of the moon are the same all over the world. The phase of the moon is based on the moon s position relative to the sun and the entire earth. If two people are looking at the moon from different parts of the Earth, they will see the same thing. (There is actually a slight variation, but it is not one that is normally discernable to the ordinary observer. In other words, if you flew to Okinawa and looked up into the sky, you wouldn t be able to tell the difference.)
