What is the oldest religion in Japan? -

HELP!!! I reeeeaaally need to know what the oldest religion in Japan is!!! Please - If you don t know the answer, don t comment.

Probably Shintoism, the belief that inanimate objects are imbued with souls. Not really a religion, but definitely probably the oldest cultural belief. Has religious dimensions to it, though. This is why the japanese are so big on putting faces on packaging. Walk around a superstore in japan and a lot of consumables with have packaging turning the box of consumables into a happy character. EDIT: I was wrong: Wiki says it is Japans native religion and once was it s state religion. quot;As such, Shinto is commonly translated as quot; The Way of the Gods.quot;quot; quot;Shinto is a collection of rituals and methods meant to mediate the relations of living humans and kami. quot; Kami being Spirits (plural). No defined god, no set doctrine, simply quot;Spiritualityquot;.

For the Japanese themself, then it is Shinto, but the Ainu people were there long before the Japanese and they are mainly animists which is the root of all relgions in the world.

Shinto- way older than Buddhism.

seems like nobody knows the answer and nobody is giong to comment

just google it -
