What does a 17 year old need to know before vacationing in Japan? -

Im vacationing in Japan when Im 17 with my friends who are all 18 by then. Can you give me tips on what to do what not to do, cheap hotels, and best places to go to?

Mhh ? In Japan people smile when they re happy, mad, sad, w.e. so don t take an angry smile for a happy one or a happy for an angry, because whether it be mad or happy, the smile will still appear to be happy because they feel no emotion to it. ? Domo Arigato is thank yo, but so is sumimasen quot;excuse mequot;, but it is used when sometimes goes out of there way to help you. ? Japan is the safest place in the world to go, but be careful, because it s very crowded, so you could get lost! ? Little kids in yellow hats are kids that have just gotten out of school and don t want to get hit by a car. ? To order food you say quot;__________ onegaishimasuquot; (the u is not pronounced and fill in the blanks with what you are ordering). That can also be used for asking were a taxi is, ect. ? In Japan, they don t have the same custom of shaking hands. So don t do that. O_O ? Oh and also, a lot of the time, when someone offers you something and you say no, they ll do it anyway. Such as inviting you over for lunch. You may say you can t make it, and they might expect you anyway.

Japan is the safest place in Asia to visit. Chances of being robbed are near zero. At 18 you may have problems renting a room. But there are places for students. Yeah, don t act stupid or macho.Be polite, and act like an adult. Places to go will depend on your interests. Most people go to Tokyo. It s the biggest city in Japan, and there s tons of things to do.

Don t take any illegal drugs with you and don t use any illegal drugs while you are there, even if offered. Make sure your friend doesn t either. This is kind of common sense but people still don t get it. Japan is not the place.

Also, always keep a map and your passport with you in case you need help and maybe pick up a Japanese common phrase book to help if you can t find someone who speaks English.

Always carry a cellphone amp; an E-translator...

should always stick together. ALWAYS. i ve never been there (though I would like to, and we re teh same age :)) but, i ve been to other places like laos/thailand, and I ve learned to always stick together because once your lost, you re pretty much screwed because you re even more vulnerable than you were when you first stepped off that airplane.

NO MATTER WHAT YOU DO ALWAYS STICK TOGETHER. EVEN THO YOU ALL MIGHT NOT WANT TO GO TO THE SAME PLACES. TRY TO MAKE A MIDDLE POINT SO THAT YOU WONT GET LOST. BECAUSE YOU WILL GET LOST. LOL. ALWAYS KNOW WHERE YOUR BELONGINGS ARE SO THAT YOU WONT GET ROBBED OR ANYTHING. HAVE AN AGENDA. TO BE WELL PLANNED OUT WILL ALWAYS MAKE YOUR DAYS GO BETTER. LAST BUT NOT LEAST RELAX AND HAVE FUN. GOING OVER SEAS CAN BE SCARY. BUT IF YOU BELIEVE THAT YOU WILL BE OKAY THAN YOU WILL BE FINE. GETTING FRUSTRATED CONFUSED AND UPSET WILL ONLY CAUSE PROBLEMS. HAVE A SAFE TRIP!
