What are the pros and cons of working in Japan? -

I heard that Japanese companies give many benefits and as well, they demand much more from their workers. Also that they treat differently to Americans and Japanese. In a nutshell, what are the pros and cons, for an American, to work in Japan?

Pros- an experience you will never forget. Cons- the benefits are largely because the cost of living is ridiculous and the pay is poor. It can be very frustrating. You will never be taken seriously and the business culture is so different that you will have little opportunity for success. You will be the outsider. If you are a woman, it s 100 times as bad.

You better find American Company in Japan. There are tons of invisible and un-stipulated rules which westerners don t understand in Asia. Some ppl who really like Japan or Asian culture can adopt. If you bring American style in the Japanese local society, both will be unhappy. I guess you ll feel stressed as well. Every Japanese work hard and long like the directors in US (to the surface.) They leave office late. It is a mono-cultural nation. Not immigrant country. 98% of the population is Japanese.
