How could or what brought Japan become an alliance with Germany in WWII? -

They seemed to be so distant geographically. I just want to understand why Japan decide to invade its neighborhood region while its country size is so small and amount of natural resource is not rich comparing with China. Or maybe that s why?

They both hated Russia. However there was never really a pact that made Japan and Germany allias. Its just so happened that When the United States entered the war on behalf of the Allias the U.S. and U.K. placed an embargo on Japan cutting of precious black gold oil which stalled their progress, casuing them to hate the U.S. and ultimatley attacking at Pearl Harbor.

Japan had designs on Manchuria, Korea and much (if not all) of Asia. Precisely as you stated; because of their own lack of land and resources, but also a sense of racial superiority. Russia was a threat to both them and Germany. Germany convinced Japan that an alliance between them would be equally beneficial, but in fact only wanted to create a second front for the Russians to fight and thus divide their forces.
