How much do you think it would cost to travel to Japan for ten days? -

I would plan on flying out of the San Luis Obispo, CA airport. In Japan I would visit Osaka, Tokyo, and Kobe. I would want to spend seven nights in a regular hotel, and three nights in a capsule hotel. Including three meals a day, etc.

Airfare from SLO to SFO + SFO to NRT will vary depending on the time of year. August is a peak travel for Japanese. Cost is higher. Ball park cost is anywhere between $650 - 1200. JR Rail Pass. 7 day pass of all Japan is about $150. The pass will allow you to travel all JR trains unlimited during the 7 day period. That means you can fly in and out of Tokyo, and take the shinkansenn to Osaka, Hiroshima, Kyoto, kobe, Nara, Nagoya, bascially anywhere JR goes. World wide brand hotels such as Hilton, Hyatt and Prince Hotels will cost more. Local hotels can be booked by local travel agents for much less. Japanese hotels charge per person, not per room. You cn walk right into a JTB office or JR Travel office and ask for a hotel in X city for Y nights and they will help you based on your needs and restrictions. Book a hotel for the first night and book all other hotels on a day by day basis. If you cannot find a hotel, go to a capsule hotel. Capsule hotels are usually for men only. Cost is about $30-50 per night. Some may turn you away just because you are not Japanese. It can happen, just be aware. Meals, depend on you. Low end meal for a lone traveller, 2 onigiri @ 120 yen each, 150 Oz drink @ 150 yen, bag of chips, 100 yen. A total junk food meal from a convenience store = 490 yen. 1 bowl of instant ramen plus hopt water and chopsticks from a convenience store, 300 yen. One bento box from a convinience store = 600-1000 yen. Meal includes, rice, fish or some meat, and some small side veggies. Heated by microwave Fast food rice beef bowl at Yoshinoya or Matsuya ranges between 340 and 600 yen. Big bowl of ramen + gyouza + side of rice from a ramen restaurant about 600 yen. Menu is probably in Japanese only. ($1USD= 110 JPY) I should mention that I currently live in Japan

I went to Japan for 10 days but I was involved with an exchange program. The ticket for me was $1000. I had a host family so i didn t have to pay for hotels or pay for my meals. How cool is that! Anyways I brought $250 but you re going to need more for 10 days. If you re a shopaholic then you re going to need a lot more money. I regret it cause I should have brought more money to spend on stuff. There s so many things to do and many things to see in Japan. You can t miss out on anything. Karaoke was awesome! Kobe is a beautiful city. Don t miss out on the biggest bridge in the world called the Pearl Bridge and somethin else i forgot. I haven t been to Tokyo but next time when I go to Japan. The 10 days there go by fast so enjoy every moment of it.

japan is kinda expensive anyways. im not sure for all of your trip, but talkin about hotels, there are budget hotels there such as in tokyo Skycourt Asakusa. Check for more information and rates by yourself online would help at www.excelloz.com or www.expedia.com. they help for information anyways.

That other answer is not true at all. I live in Japan. I m not sure what airline tickets are running right now. The last time I checked it was about $900/person. Hotels can be pricey, especially those near the airport. But McDonald s does NOT cost $10/meal. And you can eat at some pretty great restaurants for about $30/person. I ve yet to find anywhere that costs $100/person and we ve eaten at some pretty nice places. I m assuming that you are not looking for fancy, tie required type places to eat.

Cost of airplane ticket (yahoo travel) + 600 or so for bullet train or flying (half price or less for slower trains/busses + between 100-180 per night for a hotel rm, depending on where in the citys you want to stay. By the airport in Osaka was cheaper than in town, but a half hr ride in by train. McDonalds meals run about $10. A good dinner can run over $100. Could be done for from $2000 - $4000 depending on your level of comfort desired without searching and planning ahead much.

I buy you a one way ticket if you want

since the cost of living there is expensive so is everything, i guess you would spend at least 1,300 usd? it actually depends on what where you stay n what you would spend money for.

First answer TOTALLY off Airplane ticket = $800 round-trip Transportation = $2 every subway ride around Tokyo Hotel = Maybe $120 a night Meals = About $6 for cheap meals and $8 for good meals no need to spend more than that. Shopping = Your call, $500 should be enough

At the least, 200$ a day for food, hotel, and travel. That would be at the cheapest places. For a nicer hotel, it could be more like 300$ a day for everything.

$2380..really, trust me
