When is the best time to travel to Japan? -

I just received a hefty amount of money from an inheritance and I want to take my dad to Japan. My dad is very Mexican and has never gone outside of California except to go visit his parents in Mexico. This trip will only be for me and him so that we can bond. I ve never really bonded with him because of our differences and I want to show him a great time. Any information on the best time to go and best places to visit would be helpful.

Avoid June because it is the rainy season in Japan, and it is practically raining almost everyday with high humid. As far as other times in a year, it depends on what you would like to do. If you like being outside, March-April is a good season for cherry blossom, and there are little festivals to celebrate the cherry blossom season around the town. River side walk is gorgeous with all the cherry blossom. This would be a good time to go to theme parks too, since the weather is warm and nice, not too hot or too cold. If you like water parks or like to go to the beaches, choose summer after the 3rd week in July to the whole month of August. Syonan, is known as a good surfing spot around Kanagawa prefecture. If you wanna go hiking or mountain climbing, fall is a good season to go, anytime between September and November. The weather gets colder as it gets close to November, but changing color of leaves around Nikko is just amazing. If you wanna head to the festivity of New Year then choose the end of December to early January. You will see a lot of traditional Japanese celebration of New Year around Asakusa, Tokyo. I heard the Spring is truly beautiful and if you time it right you can even tour the country in sync with the cherry blossoms! I visited in the Summer and it gets pretty hot and humid, so it s not ideal for walking around all day like we did. On top of that September is typhoon season and we nearly had to waste a whole day in the hotel in Tokyo because of that. Japan is a great choice! Espero que se diviertan :-)

Springtime is the best time to go. March-May. The weather is great. Not too hot nor too cold. The Sakura (Cherry Blossoms) are in bloom and everyone enjoys being outside.

It depends on where you guys shall go to. I m Japanese and have lived in Japan for 20 years. About season I beleive spring[April to May] is the best one in a year. Summer is a good season to go sightseeing but humidity in Japan is pretty higher than U.S. That makes us uncomfortable every year. Autumn...... good. Winter is good season too but if you want to go to south region, it is seldom to see snow. north region has so much snow every year. About places Tokyo is one of great city in the world. Tokyo has everything. However if sightseeing is the most important thing for you, I recommend you to visit Kyoto. Kyoto has a long history, so you can see a lot of temples, historic site and so on. Kyoto suits for sightseeing. That s why Kyoto has so many foreigners.

Yea, I ve been there this last summer. I ve been to Osaka, Tokyo and kyoto, and I wouldn t be exaggerating when I say that It s heaven on earth.

It depends on what you want to see... If you love festivals, there are a bunch of festivals held in summer. If you want to see a snow festival in Hokkaido, however, you have to go there in Feb. If you prefer warm weather and want to see cherry blossoms, you should go between the end of March and the beginning of April.

Japan is really a nice place and I recommend you to visit Honshu,the main island. The best season to go will be Winter for me. You can fly to Tokyo out of LA ,San Francisco etc. It will be a long haul flight and recommended to upgrade to business class as airlines may have beds for you all to rest.Try not to go with a travel agency as you have to rush everyday. a)Food Try takoyaki,ramen,sushi. b)Shopping Go to Aeon Shopping Mall near Tokyo Narita Airport.Shinsaibashi,Ueno Flea Market(Buy local items there) c)Theme Parks Odaiba Park,Disneyland and Universals Studio(Osaka) d)Sightseeing Osaka Castle,Asakusa Kannon Temple,Mt.Fuji,Shirakawa s Gassho Village,Todaiji Temple, Kinkakuji Temple,Kiyomizu Temple etc.

the summer is reallyyyy hot my friends from japan say spring is the best time to go.. enjoy! i love it there =) and the guy who says it s a craphole should go shove his face in it and stop insulting places
